Description: The Storm Column is the Scrin Tier 3 base Defense. It is the most Unique advanced base Defense in the game. It will Generate a Localized Ion storm Above the Area around it. The Storm will Bombard Enemy Forces and Aircraft with bolts of lightning while buffing your own Aircraft. Like all Base Defenses the Storm Column detects stealth.

Pros:
1. Detects Stealth
2. Can fire at both Ground and Air units
3. Buffs and heals Allied Scrin Air
4. Splash damage that is Especially effective Vs Clumped units
5. Once placed the Storm Begins Immediately
6. If destroyed the storm lasts a few more seconds

优点:
1. 探隐

Cons:
1. Buffs and Heals Enemy Scrin Air

4. The Localized Storm gets in the way of structure Placement

Where/When to place them
It is always good to place Storm Columns by your Tech Assembler to Protect It from Firehawks and Vertigo Bombers. In the Late game your Technology Assembler will be one of your most important buildings. It allows you to build your Tripods, Devastators and Storm Columns so If it is destroyed you are in big trouble. Build your First Storm Column by your Tech center and you should be fine. If you see Firehawks or Vertigos Going through your base you can plop an SC down in front of them for a pleasant surprise.

何时/何地应该放置它们

It's also good to have a few at the Front of your base to support your army and airforce or even at your flank to stop units from Sneaking in like Pitbulls or Masterminds.

After you at least build the One by the Tech center then just keep them queued up to plop down as needed although Vs GDI or Nod you would want to build one by your Airforce for Protection.

The Storm Column and Your Airforce
All Scrin Aircraft are both Buffed and healed by an Ion storm making the Storm Column the perfect way to support your Air Craft while in your base. It will Buff them for battle and protect them from nasty things like Venoms, Firehawks and Stealth tanks. It will also heal them keeping your Airforce nice and healthy. Unfortunately, your Storm Columns will Buff and Heal enemy Scrin Air. The bolts of Lightning it fires aren't even that effective Vs Scrin Aircraft. In Scrin mirrors you will need different means of AA. Units that a good for the Job would be Seekers and Stormriders.

How to build around Storm Columns
If you have ever trying placing a structure by a Storm Column you would have noticed that it doesn't let you. This is because the generated Ion Storm gets in the way. This is generally a road block when you are trying to place down more Storm Columns to defend with. It is quite annoying but however there is a simple solution. If you shut down the Storm column there will be no more Ion Storm in the way so it will let you build. Place down the Structure and Put the Storm Column back online. Clumped Storm Columns FTW?
